What is Occupational Therapy?

Occupational therapy is a type of therapeutic treatment that supports people living with sensory, cognitive, or physical challenges. Occupational therapists help children and people with disabilities to develop skills that increase independence and confidence in different areas of life, such as daily activities, school, and play.

A few examples of ways that occupational therapy can make a difference include:

  • developing fine and gross motor skills

  • improving coordination and motor planning

  • improving hand-eye coordination

  • help with sensory integration

  • mastering life skills like getting dressed

  • learning social skills

Our Occupational Therapy services are provided by Kelsey Yoder, MOTR/L.
